FEBRUARY 4TH-9TH RECAP

By Michael Battista/@MichaelB_96

The penultimate weekend of regular season games concluded with the University of Pennsylvania clinching the top spot in the Colonial’s Liberty Division. Thanks to Millersville University’s loss to The College of New Jersey, UPenn cannot be overtaken in the standings and has earned the top seed in the upcoming Colonial Cup Playoffs. The bye into the semifinals means they will play their first game on Saturday, February 19 against the lowest remaining seed in the tournament. They will also take home the regular season trophy for the 2021-22 season.

Additionally thanks to other results, Millersville and TCNJ are locked into the second and third seeds, respectively. The Marauders will take on #7 Seton Hall on Friday, February 18. The Lions will play against the still-to-be-determined sixth seed. That spot is currently held by the University of Scranton, who can still jump into the fifth spot. The Royals will need to win their final three conference games this weekend while Stockton needs to lose its final three. Otherwise, Bryn Athyn and Stockton will play one-another as the fourth and fifth seeds with both fighting for the higher spot.

In the ninth edition of the ACHA Southeast Rankings, the Top 20 from last week remained unchanged in terms of CSCHC teams. UPenn sits at #15, Millersville is at #18, and TCNJ rounds it out at #20. The coming weekend is the final period in which games will be counted for ACHA rankings.
