NOVEMBER 12TH-14TH RECAP

By Michael Battista/@MichaelB_96

High scoring was the name of the game across the Colonial last weekend. The six games with the highest finals had a combined scoreline of 48 to 9. But in the end the biggest headlines came from the games determined by one goal. In Saturday’s clash of Lions, Bryn Athyn overcame giving up two separate leads, including a 2-0 start, to beat the defending conference champion College of New Jersey, 4-3. Meanwhile Stockton, the other debuting conference member this season, snapped the University of Pennsylvania’s perfect Colonial record with a 5-4 win.

“We’re very happy competing in the Colonial, very good hockey, disciplined teams, and solid coaching,” Stockton head coach Bob Gialanella said after the weekend, with his team climbing the standings. “We’re getting our legs underneath us, making adjustments, and finally playing with three lines after illness and injury wreaked havoc on our first several games.”

In the first edition of the ACHA Division 2 rankings (Through November 7) both the Quakers and Millersville were named two of the top twenty teams in the Southeast Region, #11 and #18 respectively.
