The Colonial States Collegiate Hockey Conference closed out October on a high note the past two weekends. Of the 16 games that played out, 11 were between conference members and shifted the standings massively. Despite winning one of it’s games by 10+ goals Millersville University is no longer the top team in the Liberty Division. The University of Pennsylvania took the top spot and remained undefeated in conference (6-0) after taking down West Chester. In the Independance Division, Seton Hall University won two games by a combined score of 13-3 and remained perfect as well (7-0). The Pirates 14 points this season puts them 10 points ahead of second place New Jersey Institute of Technology.
In terms of player performances, multiple athletes produced big for the squads. Will Torgerson scored five goals for UPenn against NJIT this past weekend, while the Highlanders’ Ted Lee scored a hat-trick and an assist in his team’s 5-2 win over Monmouth. The Hawk’s Richie Sabbagh had an outstanding night of his own against Millersville’s D3 team earlier this month, earning five assists and two goals in his team’s 9-4 win.
In addition, two games involving the University of Scranton were not played last weekend. The October 29th CSCHC contest between UPenn and the Royals was postponed to a later date, while Scranton’s game the next day against Drexel University D2 was cancelled outright.
